Sometimes Life is Fair

Last fall, 60 Minutes featured the Metzgers, a homeless family in central Florida who live in a paneled truck. The solo parent father is a carpenter with a daughter in high school and a son in middle school. They use a gas station in the morning to brush their teeth. In the afternoon, they use the public library to study. At night both kids are involved in community theatre. The optimistic teenage daughter randomly wore a Stetson University t-shirt. Well, Stetson began to receive phone calls about the story and Stetson University in Florida recently announced that they were giving full scholarships to the Metzger children. Well, sometimes life is just not fair; but at other times, people do everything to make it fair . . . which in my mind is the mission of people of God.
